Love Me Some Tea
I rarely get a chance to brag about my love of tea or my developing tea collection. Until now. Tea has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember.
When I was a kid, I’d pick mint and lemon balm from my grandmother’s garden, or pick weeds (pink clovers) from a city lot with my aunt. After my no-hunting and gathering session, in Grandma’s kitchen, I’d place the the herbs in a pot of water and boil until the water turned brown. I had created a delicious tea. I remember the sweet, steamy aromas flowing up my nose as I inhaled, trying to see if I could smell each plant I picked, individually and together. Taking a sip of my brew, proudly.
I don’t often make teas this way anymore since I can’t seem to maintain a herb garden in my kitchen, but I still enjoy a cup of tea the same way. As if I was enjoying a glass of wine, inhaling, attempting to catch subtle notes of dried fruit or mint leaves. Taking my first sip, and noticing the distinct flavor of a black or roobios tea leaf.
Though I now have several varieties of tea, I am a sucker for a hot matcha or Chai latte. I’ll take them iced as well. Milk (plant based for me) and tea is truly and amazing combination. These lattes inspired my tea soaps MATCHA and CHAI MARIE.
MATCHA and CHAI MARIE are 100% coconut oil soaps that have a rich, creamy, and extremely sudsy lather. MATCHA is colored with matcha powder and scented with lemongrass and mint essential oils, while CHAI MARIE is made with organic black tea and scented with cardamom and clove. Regardless oh how you like to enjoy your cup of tea, these soaps will definitely make you want to curl up on the couch in sweats on a gloomy fall day. ☺️
